Starbucks is officially on summertime.
For Starbucks Summer, we brought the chill to combat the heat—and with it, a declarative call to action (or inaction, if that’s more your speed) to embrace the unbothered, unseriousness of the season. Because it doesn’t matter if you’re a Hot Girl, Rat Boy or lime green-clad Brat, either way…
Despite being first-timers on the account, Sayako and I sold in the creative platform in the first round, with our campaign line chosen as the consumer-facing tagline (typically written in-house). This was a first for SPCSHP and a pretty cool win for us.

The Summertime shake
While working through post-production, the Starbucks team had a late-breaking ask: how can we bring elements of the “We’re on Summertime” TV spots to social? We came back with the idea to take the second-nature act of shaking your iced Starbucks and add some ✨personality✨ around it, capturing that unbothered feeling of being on summertime.
